Nola Blair is a free-spirited photographer sent to cover the party of the century in Elizabeth Bathory’s ruined castle. It was an assignment she’d declined––twice, but when she was offered a hefty sum to indulge the wealthy eccentric, she finally gave in. Little did she know that the guests at this party were centuries old and their desires reached far beyond those of a normal partygoer.

One captivating night will change her life and the two vampires vying for her will fight to the death to get what they want. One wants her to be his and the other wants her blood.

Who will decide Nola’s fate?

Chick and Brain Rating 3 out of 5 stars

This story had amazing potential. Based on the blurb I was very excited to get a chance to read this book, but once I dived into I felt like I was in a history class instead of reading a story. I spent most of my time trying to keep track of all of the characters facts, names and how they were related than I did actually reading the story. It took away from my reading experience immensely. Some of the characters seemed to be so far removed for the main story that we could have done with out them.

Myers does an amazing job keeping the story from falling stagnant and loosing my attention, once I got past all of the facts, and down to the main points of the story. I have a deep love for vampires, so this was an amazing story to read. I can not wait to see where else Myers is going to go with it.

If you love facts and back story on characters, this is a great book for you! I personally am not a fan, but the story was amazing. If we could just cut back on the history lesson some, it would be the perfect read for me.
