Review: HIS First (HIS Collection #6) by Jenika Snow

Goodreads Synopsis:

I’ve known Braxton my whole life.

He’s older than me, but I’ve loved him since I knew what that meant.
And when I see him again after years of being apart, I don’t want to stop myself from telling him how I feel.

He might be my father’s good friend, and nearly two decades older than me, but he’s all I want.

I first realized I loved Moira when she was eighteen years old. Now two years later I’m back in her life and that affection has grown tenfold.

It’s smart to stay away, but I can’t. I won’t.

I’ve been celibate because I only want her. It’s time to man-up and tell Moira that she’s been mine for years, even if she didn’t know it.

Warning: This is an especially fast read, packed with steamy goodness, and a virginal heroine and celibate hero. It also has a healthy dose of sweetness thrown in. Get ready for a feel good story that’ll still make you blush.

Chick and Brain Rating 5 out of 5

I have graciously received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review

Jenika Snow is slow becoming one of my favorites! Seeing her name on the list of authors for the HIS collections was one of the main reasons I wanted to be part of the advance reader group for it. Man did the entire collection not disappoint, but this was honestly my favorite out of all 6 of them! I am a sucker for a May December romance so when I read the synopsis I already knew I was going to love it, so it came as no surprise that I did.

HIS First is the story of how Moira and Braxton finally admit their feelings to one another. Braxton is a very successful business man who has lived most of his life alone, but when he hears Moira giving her high school graduation valedictorian speech he knew he was in love with her. Other than their age different, there was one other problem, Moira’s father is Braxton’s dearest friend. So Braxton throws himself into his business hoping that he can forget his attraction to Moira, but alas it doesn’t work. Moria on the other hand has been in love with Braxton for as long as she can remember and his absence has only made that love grown stronger, so when her father tells her they are meeting up with Braxton for the weekend she is excited to see her love again. These two are no longer able to fight their feelings once they set eyes on each other, they will be each others first everything and no one is going to stop that from happening.

Snow is amazing at capturing our attention from the beginning of the story, this novella is no different. The emotions of these characters seem to flow off of these pages and connect with us in a way to draw us into the story. Fortunate for me, the Dd/Lg aspect of the story line is non-existent in this story, but in all honesty it is not needed since the age difference between the two characters pretty much implies it. Although this novella is super short, it takes about 15 minutes to read, Snow does a superb job of wrapping up the story of these two characters with the two epilogues provided.

Until next time,
