Review: The Last Guy by Ilsa Madden-Mills and Tia Louise

Goodreads Synopsis:

The first rule of office romance is don’t do it—especially if your dream is to hold the anchor spot on the nightly news and your boss is trying to get you fired.

But one look at Cade Hill, the sexy new sports director, and uptight reporter Rebecca Fieldstone is daydreaming about other things.

Sex in his office…
Sex in the on-set kitchen…
Sex in the supply closet…

She can’t stop thinking about the former NFL quarterback and how perfect he’d look between her sheets—except he’s an arrogant jerk with a huge…ego.

He’s the last guy she’d ever have a one-night stand with.

Cade Hill draws a professional line on office romance—until it comes to the hyper-focused Rebecca. He wants her, and he gets his wish when a chance encounter has them having the hottest sex of their lives.

It’s just a hook-up, she says.
When can we do it again? he says.

With Rebecca determined to keep Cade in the friend zone, it’s going to be an uphill battle for Cade to convince her that he’s the last guy for her…

THE LAST GUY is the first white-hot CONTEMPORARY ROMANTIC COMEDY from Wall Street Journal bestselling author Ilsa Madden-Mills and Tia Louise, coming June 12, 2017!

I graciously received this ARC from the Author in exchange for an honest review

This is a first time reading anything by Ilsa Madden-Mills, but I have read Tia Louise before. I was very interested to see these two authors combing their efforts to write this story and I was not disappointed.  The Last guy is a hilarious, steamy office romance that could take place anywhere. These two lovely writers kept us enthralled in the story from start to finish with their amazing characters that immediate got into our hearts at first sight.

This is a witty office romance that takes place in your regular everyday newsroom. First we have Rebecca who has been fighting tooth and nail in a man’s world to get what she wants most in the world, a spot at the evening anchors desk. Rebecca is not the most young person in her field or the skinniest but she is a hard worker and deserves what she gets, well she though she did until she met Cade. Cade is an ex-superstar Quarterback that just waltzed into the nightly sports anchor position, or so she thought. Cade and Rebecca are vinegar and water, but for some reason the two of them are instantly attracted to one another. Rebecca does everything to fight this attraction, but Cade will do anything he can to get what he wants and what he wants is Rebecca.

The characters of this story are amazingly written to the point that they jump off the pages. We can not help but find at least one character to identify with. There are multiple plot lines to follow but they all run parallel with the main story to ensure the story runs smoothly. I don’t want to say there isn’t any drama, there are little bumps in the road for all the characters, but nothing life shattering for any of the characters to deal with. The entire story is a very light hearted read where everyone gets their happily ever after in the end.

The Last Guy is an easy beach or pool side read that any woman will enjoy! I can not wait to read another combination story between these two in the future.

Until next time,
