Review: HIS Rules (HIS Collection #3) by Dani Wyatt

Goodreads Synopsis:

One bite of the tofu chipotle burger at his latest venture capital investment and Rueger Marshall is hooked. But not on the foo. On the sweet and clumsy waitress that is also about to find out just what it means to be his babygirl. Just what it means to follow the rules.

Lexi Chase has three misdemeanors and a new probation mentor she’s supposed to meet. Her job at the vegan deli doesn’t hold much promise, until the day the man with the lumberjack beard and the handmaid suit sits in her section and teaches her about destiny.

Can Rueger ever come to grips with the fantasies of Lexi wide eyed, looking up at him with the name ‘Daddy’ on her lips? Or will questions of hidden agendas and a stack of incriminating photos end their fairytale before it can start?

Author’s Note: Grab your candy heart panties and an ice pack, because these two are about to teach you just how hot a list of rules can be. Sit back, wiggle your toes, find your favorite stuffie and settle in for a decadent, dirty ride with a to-die-for DaddyDom and his one-and-only babygirl. As always, this is a happily ever after safe read with unrelated adults finding their happy place with a bit of DD/babygirl fun. Enjoy.

Chick and Brain Rating 3 out of 5

I have graciously received this ARC from the Author in exchange for an honest review

I am a HUGE fan of Dani Wyatt so I was excited to hear that she was a part of the HIS collection as an author. As I said in the previous review of the second book, I am not a fan of this sub-genre but the insta-everything that you come to expect from Wyatt in her shorter novellas was on point. Wyatt definitely brought her A game when writing this one.

HIS Rules is the third installment in the collection that focuses on Rueger and Lexi. Lexi lost both her parents in a car accident and end up in the system at a young age. Lucky for her she is out on probation and working at Rueger’s newest venture capital investment restaurant. What she believes is just his desire for “good PR” is Rueger’s desire to lay claim to her in a way that no man has before. He creates rules that Lexi is to follow at all times, which creates an order in her life that she has desired for the longest time. This excites both of them and leads to something more that both of them have desired for a long time.

I am a huge fan of Wyatt’s writing and she did any amazing job, but this particular sub-genre is not for me so it is reflected in my rating. The connection between the two characters is definitely shown in their interactions with one another during the short amount of time we get to spend with them in this novella. Rueger’s desire to protect and take care of Lexi is something that she needs and has desired her entire life. Their love for one another basically leaps off the pages, especially in the epilogue of the story. Wyatt does an amazing job portraying all these facts to us through out the entire novella, but personally the Dd/Lg fetish in this book is just too much for me and I can not get past it. It even ruins the amazing sex scenes for me which is a shame because Wyatt’s writing of them is amazing!

Dani Wyatt is an amazing writer and I will continue to read her stories, but this one was not my particular cup of tea. If you are into the Dd/Lg fetish then this is the story for you!

Until next time,
