Chick and Brain Rating 4 out of 5

I graciously received this ARC from the Author in exchange for an honest review

HIS Obsession is the second book in a new collection of novellas written by different authors.  This is written by Brock, which is a new author for me. As a first time reader, this was a surprise to learn that this was her first experience writing. As someone who does not read this particular subject. Brock made this reading experience surprising an enjoyable smutty dream come true

The main focus of this novella is the relationship between Marcus and his step daughter Nadine. Nadine’s mother left both of them when Nadine was young with no desire to return. Marcus has watch her grow into a young woman however along the line those feelings begun to change. Nadine is no longer a little girl and Marcus knows it. He torments himself everyday by fighting his feelings, but one day he can’t take it anymore. Fortunate for him, Nadine feels the same way.

Brock does and amazing job making us comfortable with this entire situation. She makes sure that we all understand that Nadine is NOT Marcus’s daughter and that the entire experience is fully consensual between two adults. Nadine is of age, she is 18 years old. The sensuality of the entire experience is on a different level from just being sexual. Brock makes it obvious that Marcus is not just out to “get some” but truly desires Nadine in a way that a man desires a woman. He would do anything for her, that is what makes the situation truly amazing.

Although I do not like this sub-genre, I rather enjoyed the hot and sexy nature of the novella and will definitely keep an eye out for more of Brock’s writing in the future.

Until next time,

XOXO
