Standing on her tiptoes at a Renaissance Fair, Lela Marshall catches a glimpse of just how hot a forge can get. Even from fifty feet away, she’s never felt this sort of heat. And it’s coming from between her legs.
Miller Rhodes has a gigantic problem. He’s met the woman he knows is destined to be his. Only, she’s disappeared into a crowd and took his heart and his future with her. For once, even work can’t distract him from thoughts of the way her lips tasted for one brief moment under the July sun.
Can a sock-chewing puppy and a meddling mother be the solution to Miller’s problem? Will this knife forging hard-ass find his soft spot in the girl that stole his heart after just one kiss?
Author’s note: Lose yourself in the heat radiating from this filthy talking alpha. He’s a man of few words, but he definitely isn’t lacking on how to use his mouth in other ways. Suspend reality for a bit with this love at first kiss, happily ever after, scorching hot read. Safe, indulgent and *touches finger to butt and listens for the sizzle*
Chick and Brain Rating: 5 out of 5 stars
Now this is what I am talking about! A straight up alpha male and independent woman for main characters. Miller and Lela have a chance meeting a Renaissance Fair, but neither is able to forget the other. Then again by chance their lives cross paths again, and in typical alpha male fashion Miller swears to never let Lela go. It’s not the psycho controlling never let you go, but the insta-love we all long for. Lela tries to fight it but the universe says they are destined to be together so together they shall be.
Another first time author for me, but again I was not disappointed. Wyatt takes on the perfect roller coaster ride of emotion that leads to happily ever after while telling an amazing story along the way. We are treated to seeing a softer side of the alpha male character we all know and love while still getting the raw power that we desire. Wyatt is able to create a good balance between a loving and doting male and the alpha dominating character when she created Miller for our enjoyment. Lela is a little one-dimensional for my taste, but we are given a head strong female that has a hard time letting her heart take the lead. However, when Lela finally decides to take the leap we are treated to something magical.
I could read this story over and over again. I have already recommended it to all of my friends that I know will read it. Wyatt gives us that perfect alpha male insta-love story with the basically perfect HEA. I honestly can not think of one thing that needs to be changed about this story, except that I just wish it was longer. I want to know more about these two characters because I was instantly drawn to them emotionally. However it is the perfect short read for when you need a fix.
Until next time,
